Cermaic Tile - Ceramic

This artifact is a white ceramic tile in excellent condition.  On this tile appear the city seal approved in November 1962 and used until the new Centennial Logo was approved in November 1987.  The old seal was circular with the the following text:  "City of Corona, Future Limited, The Circle City."  Gold, metallic rays come from the outside of the circle with the atomic symbol (three interlocking rings) in the center of the seal and above the aqua teardrop that has the slogan, "Future Unlimited." The tiles were used as keys to the city in the 1960s (Ceramic Tile City Seals, Corona Daily Independent, Monday, July 10, 1963, page 3).
