Ornament - Metal/Plastic

This artifact is the 2001 Ornament from Governor Gray Davis and First Lady Sharon Davis. The ornament is oval in shape. Text at the top of the ornament reads: "The California State Capitol." Text at the bottom reads: "2001." In the center of the ornament, replicating scrimshaw, is an oval piece of plastic with a picture of the California State Capitol Building. Engraved on the back in cursive text is the following: " Governor Gray Davis - and First Lady Sharon Davis - Made in the USA." There is an insert that comes with the ornament signed by Governor and Mrs. Davis. Historical information is printed on the back and is signed by Dr. Kevin Starr, State Librarian of California. The ornament is boxed in a gold foil box with a black State Seal on the front. An enclosed metal bar can be attached to the ornament turing it into a stand-alone display piece.
