Blankets (2) - Wool

This artifact collection consists of  two tweed, brown and white, hand woven, blankets. They have turquoise and white stripes at each end. Donor's Remarks:  Dr. Harris, a horticulturalist, lived in Home Garden, California, in a home on Byron Street. He died in the late 1950's or early 1960's.  In 1908 he received a patent on laying or making cement blocks.  Mrs. Olga Abernathy, a neighbor of Dr. Harris, received two woven blankets from Dr. Harris just before he died.  These blankets were woven by his mother., CONDITION:  These blankets are in good condition with the exception of some fraying on each blanket.
