Abstract/Description: | This artifact is a wood block cut in the outline of the Woman's Improvement Club of Corona, California. A graphic on the front of this block depicts the club. The back is inscribed with the following: "Woman's Improvement Club - Corona, Ca - Designed by architect Thomas E. Preston. The craftsman style clubhouse was built in 1913 at the corner of Eleventh and Main. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The "Club" was founded in 1899 to improve living conditions in Corona's citrus community. Made exclusively for Friends of the Corona Public Library - Joline 99." |
