This artifact is a Ceremonial Artifact. It is a brass plaque which hung in the Corona Carnegie Library. It reads, "This Room is Dedicated to the memory of Helen Whitmore daughter of the late A. R. Whitmore, Corona Pioneer." Miss Whitmore was a teacher and taught in Corona. She lost her life by drowning in Big Bear lake on Friday, September 1, 1939, when the boat in which she was sailing capsized
