USS Omaha Crew on the Odenwald

Photograph of the <em>USS Omaha</em> crew on the captured Nazi ship, <em>Odenwald</em>.  The <em>Odenwald</em> was flying the US flag and had identified itself as the <em>Willmoto</em> out of Philadelphia. The crew attempted to scuttle the ship when the Omaha approached. The Omaha crew saved the ship and found the Nazi flag and <em>Odenwald</em> life preserver on board. Crew members pictured here signed their names on photograph.
