1996 Time Capsule - Metal

This artifact the official time capsule for the 1996 Corona Centennial. The plaque on the front of the capsule has the Centennial logo and reads, "Corona, California - Centennial Time Capsule - Dedicated July 8, 1996 - To be opened in 2096. A small black circle appear in the center of the plaque which is the opening where a small nozzle is. Through this nozzle an inert gas was pumped into the capsule or all air removed. A small plaque that was part of the Library Gallery Display reads: "Parsons Airgas". A second display plaque tells of the Time Capsule sponsorship: Continental Cablevision, Corona Historic Preservation Society, Corona Public Library Heritage Room, Friends of the Corona Public Library and the Heritage Committee.
